POSITION TITLE: Sales and Membership Retention Coordinator
OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for the development and support of a strong and vibrant chamber membership portfolio. Working closely with the President, the Board of Directors, Committee Chairs, and other chamber staff members, the Manager of Sales and Membership Services will ensure the continuous growth, support, and retention of GMPCC membership in the Southwest Montgomery County area. As one of the first points of contact for potential new members, the successful incumbent in this position must present a professional and welcoming demeanor on behalf of the Chamber. The incumbent should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated organizational and time management abilities, and computer software proficiency in the accomplishment of his/her membership services tasks.

· Demonstrated experience using computer software particularly the Microsoft Office software suite and ChamberMaster (advanced experience preferred).
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Identify targeted businesses throughout Southwest Montgomery County who could potentially become members of the Chamber.
· Maintain a personal awareness of all commercial and residential development activities throughout Southwest Montgomery County to determine how best to involve the Chamber in area development opportunities.
· Maintain an inviting portfolio of Membership Benefits and Enrollment materials to be used during face-to-face dialogue involving membership invitations or upgrades.
· Personally visit every Chamber Member at least twice annually to express the Chamber’s appreciation for their membership and attend to and resolve any issues they may have with their membership.
· Spend at least 80% of each workweek visiting potential and existing Members as indicated above.
· Develop a matrix of rationale to track the reasons that existing Members lapse from time to time.
· Chair the Chamber’s Membership Committee.
· Working with the President and the Membership Committee develop an attractive “Welcoming Package” for each new member and assume responsibility for personal delivery of each.
· Prepare and publish the Chamber’s weekly and monthly membership report.
· Working with the President, organize and attend all Chamber networking events.
· Accurately maintain all Membership data profiles in the Chamber’s various data streams.
· Working with the President, propose to the Board of Directors a meaningful number of targeted new Chamber members for each budget year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidates for this position must have
- a BA degree in business administration, hospitality, tourism, or a closely related field with a minimum of three to five years of related successful experience.
- Chamber designations of IOM, PCED, or CCE are highly preferred. B2B sales experience is required with a demonstrated ability to prospect and close the sale transactions.
- Volunteer experience would be helpful.
- The incumbent must be willing to support the entire Chamber team as directed, even at times when it becomes necessary to accomplish tasks not listed in this Position Description.
- An entrepreneurial spirit with a track record of initiatives and results and ownership of work must be evident in prior positions.
- Candidates must be familiar with the Microsoft Office suite of products including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
ORGANIZATION:
This full-time position reports to the President of the Chamber and interfaces periodically with the Board of Directors and the various Committees of the Chamber. As indicated above, the incumbent will interface broadly with all Members of the Chamber and various other organizations and community leaders in the Southwest Montgomery County area. This position is based in the Chamber’s office in Magnolia, Texas.
