This forum will enable non-profit executives, staff and board to come together to share challenges, resources, ideas and the passion to make a difference in our communities.
 

Our initial roundtable discussion will center on VOLUNTEERS – attracting, recruiting, managing, recognizing and retaining one of our most valuable resources – our volunteers!

Our speaker will be John Tindall, Director of Volunteer Services for Montgomery County Food Bank.  John managed an army of volunteers last year that was 5,000 strong who helped at the Food Bank.  The total number of donor hours was the equivalent of 14 full-time employees.  Their staff consists of only 23 people, so volunteers augmented their staff by 61%.  “Since a volunteer hour is worth $24.69 per hour to a nonprofit, it pays to take good care of our people,” John shared.
